FDA Guildelines About Handheld Barriers

The FDA has issued guidance documents to help manufacturers and end-users maintain clean and sterile medical devices.* These documents offer recommendations regarding proper cleaning and preventative measures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. The FDA included barriers in its recommendations. If dental equipment cannot be sterilized, a barrier must be used.
